Founder & Executive Director
Instructor (NYC & NJ)
Lauren founded Greenhouse Arts Center in Harlem in 2015 with the dream to create a multi-location arts education organization, anchored in its dedication to meet needs in any community through leadership centered dance programming. Her life journey and education has taken her across the world, participating in 12 different mission trips to 5 different continents as an adolescent and young adult. She holds a BA in Dance Education, BFA in Dance and minor in Communication at Montclair State University and completed a Certificate IV at Hillsong International Leadership College in Australia. Immersing herself in other cultures inspired a process of critical thinking centered around the power of the arts to meet the needs of communities and the dissonance she experienced in American dance education systems.
She has worked in public, private and charter schools across NYC and NJ for over 15 years, teaching thousands of students with an ethos that prioritizes positive impact. Simultaneously, she has built Greenhouse Arts Center with her team in Harlem and in New Jersey. She’s continued to hone her skills as an Executive Director by participating in the Advance Leadership Intensive (Movement.org) and E3 which equips faith based Executive Directors with community and professional development. She currently resides in New Jersey with her husband who runs his own practice of pediatric occupational therapy.
